Based in the small community of Willalooka in South Australia, Jaime Prosser's work is deeply informed by her surroundings.

Her works create a sense of movement, exploring the fragility and resilience of nature, evident in her meticulous attention to detail. With intricate patterns and forms Jaime challenges the viewer to engage closely with the work.

Jaime’s recent practice turns inward, focusing on her evolving relationship with her daughters as they grow older. She finds herself drawn to the memory of their early closeness, when they were small enough to be held as if they were part of her own body. This longing for connection is channeled into her studio practice, where painting and drawing become acts of quiet reflection trying to reclaim moments of intimacy within the stillness of artmaking.

In 2024 she was named a finalist in the renown Kedumba Drawing Award. Following this was selected as a finalist in the 2025 Perry Prize For Drawing and the Dobell Drawing Prize, one of Australia’s most prestigious awards for contemporary drawing. With her piece ‘Scar & Ruby’ being selected in the upcoming touring exhibition 2026/2027

Most recently selected in the Tatiara Art Prize with a piece from her current body of work where Jaime explores reconnection with her daughters ‘Ruby & Scar’. As well as her landscape painting ‘Through The Red Dust’ which looks at the drought and its effects on her family’s farming land, which has been selected in the Paddington Art Prize opening in October. These recognitions highlight the technical precision and emotional resonance of her artworks, which stand out for their capacity to evoke a sense of place and intimacy with the subject.

Billboard Project

Dukes Highway, Keith SA

I'm very excited to have my painting 'Tatiara Flowering Gum' on display larger than life on a massive billboard in my local town Keith SA.

This project was made possible by the wonderful Walkway Gallery and the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia.
