Vessels brings together paintings and drawings shaped by the places and moments I carry with me. In particular time spent in Texas with family where work, life and routine center around the round pen. Shadows, fence rails, earth and grass become fragments of a rural landscape. Small details that can hold the feeling of a much larger place.
The series grew from thinking about how we inhabit and remember the land. Some works suggest boundaries and containment; others hold a quieter sense of stillness. I think of the vessels as more than physical forms. They are places where memory, time and experience settle.
I’ve kept the works’ edges and drawn marks visible, allowing each piece to retain something of its making. Together, they form a collection of remembered moments, all of them personal and connected to the landscape around me.
